3-D Modeling (SketchUp)
Building ArchitectureConstruction opportunity--Here's what one student says:
Last year when I participated, I was really excited to see all the different designs. It was my first year in Architecture class, so I wasn't too familiar with construction. But, doing so for this event improved my skills as I observed and helped with the design and build phases. I look forward to doing it again this year. --Desiree P. |
2-D Planning (AutoCAD)First year students will draw a simple floor plan with my guidance and then later develop a more complex, award-winning plan with 3-D model.
Each year students go beyond textbook learning by creating designs, 2D & 3D modeling those creations, and then building a few for a fuller understanding of the architectural process.

Above are a variety of projects that are possible projects that students are able to accomplish in a typical year. Beginner Architecture students are limited to Residential Architecture. Advanced students have an opportunity to work on real projects like the house above or Commercial Architecture or other proposed Research and Development/Problem & Solution type projects. Engineering classes are similar to Architecture classes during the 1st Semester while learning the programs AutoCAD & SketchUP. 2nd Semester Engineering classes branch out into more hands-on projects such as mouse-trap cars; structural design construction; long-span and short-span Bridge designs.
