Real Projects
|
Overview:
Each advanced student will pick a manageable size project that can be designed and built in the span of one school year. Larger Projects may require a team for design & building phases. Only projects that are designed, then approved and funded will be built. Other projects proposed & designed may be built in future years based on funding, resources, student interest, etc. Some projects may end on the drawing board.

Inspired by the Innovator's Mindset book, I want to propose some campus-wide painting of older buildings. I saw a beautiful "Churchill" mural in a stairwell and was further encouraged to make churchill's buildings more beautiful like the Historic Jefferson HS artistry that I grew up enjoying in my HS days. This year, I plan to have my advance architecture students pick an older part of the campus to develop ideas to improve with paint patterns &/or landscape &/or outdoor furnishings. The beauty of paint is if it does not work to improve our campus, it can easily be painted back to a blank canvas. I'm hoping you and/or the PTA upon approval of accepted plans and renderings will support this multi-year project with funds for supplies. I was looking for a way to incorporate more art into architecture. This would be a great way to do that. Let me know what y'all think. --Mr. Scott
