Construction Site Visits:
Architects and Engineers are typically required to visit buildings under construction about 1 a week. The purpose of this visit is to observe the building and make sure it is being built according to the plans. All supervision of the construction workers is controlled by the General Contractor's Project Manager. If errors are observed, the architects and engineers coordinate the solutions through the builder.
A good designer (Architect or Engineering) should understand construction by lots of site visits or actually building things.
