Design Concepts (Form & Shape):
Concept Design / Problem Definition / Idea Generation
In the forming and shaping of a solution to any problem in Architecture or Engineering there are many things to consider to get an effective and highly successful result. FIRST (History Research)
What has been done before successfully? What has not worked and why? Consider what has been done before with the most success. Research and study the most successful solutions that have been done before. Your concept for your own original idea might be the next generation of something that already exists, but with your own ideas of improving an existing design. In your research, you may find things you like about a few existing solutions and decide to combine parts of several designs into something completely new and original. Regardless of whether your design is going to be something completely new or an evolution of something that already exists, researching should always be your first step in the design process. Problem Definition
The solution is in the problem. The better you define the problem and desired outcomes, the more successful your design will be. Idea Generation
